About CodeZA

Accurate South African codes, kept honest.

CodeZA is a free reference tool for South African postal codes, bank branch codes, and dialing area codes. We exist to give you the right answer in seconds, with no clutter.

Where our data comes from

Our postal-code data is compiled from public South African postal datasets covering 945 towns and suburbs across all nine provinces, cross-referenced for province and location accuracy. Bank branch codes and SWIFT/BIC codes are the published universal codes from each bank. Dialing area codes follow the official South African numbering plan.

How we keep it accurate

Codes change over time. Every lookup page lets South Africans confirm a code or suggest a correction. Suggested corrections are reviewed by a person before anything changes, and bank codes are only updated after checking against an authoritative source. We never change a code on an unverified submission.

A note on bank details

Branch and SWIFT codes are provided for reference and general use. Before sending an EFT or international transfer, always confirm the details directly with your bank or the recipient. CodeZA is not affiliated with any bank.
